Teaching cross stitch to murderers…

Fine Cell Work cushions

Have just spied this on the Guardian website this morning. It’s a fasinating profile of Fine Cell Work, a charity whose women volunteers go into prisons up and down the UK teaching dangerous prisoners (mostly men) the art of needlepoint. Cross stitch, tapestry and quilting all take centre stage.

I have read about this charity in Cross Stitch magazine a few months ago, so great to see it’s finally getting some mainstream coverage.

They’ve just launched a pop up shop in Mayfair with exclusive designs from Emily Peacock and Cath Kidston.  definitely work a visit next time i’m in London.
